Short answer: JazzHR starts at $1,000 a year, with AI candidate matching on Plus at $3,480, while Lever publishes no price and includes AI-powered screening in its Core Platform. JazzHR fits a small business seeking published pricing and simpler applicant tracking; Lever fits teams that need a sourcing CRM, reporting and a platform for structured hiring at scale. Both belong to Employ Inc., so this is a choice within the same vendor family. JazzHR's standard prices exclude companies over 250 employees and several business types, making eligibility part of the cost comparison.

For a US HR lead with both products shortlisted, the useful comparison is the annual bill for the work you actually need. We read both vendors' pricing pages on October 23, 2026. The JazzHR figures below are published annual prices; the Lever benchmark comes from Vendr's buyer data, not a Lever rate card.

Is JazzHR cheaper than Lever?

JazzHR's published prices are below Vendr's reported median Lever contract, but only a quote can establish your actual difference. Vendr reports a median around $15,400 a year from its buyer data. That is not Lever's price, a minimum or a prediction for your company.

JazzHR Hero costs $1,000 a year billed annually. It includes the ATS, job postings starting at 3 a month, email templates, LinkedIn Recruiter integration and premium job listings. Plus costs $3,480 a year, is labeled Most Popular and adds up to 200 active jobs, AI-Powered Candidate Matching, structured interviews and assessments, configurable task automation and standard reporting.

Pro costs $5,508 a year and adds offers and eSignatures, advanced visual reporting, a custom reports builder, workflow reports and all-access support. The Yearly/Monthly toggle says you can save up to 24% by paying yearly. Certain add-ons are billed on usage, and migration is included in select plans. Our JazzHR pricing breakdown explains the tiers.

Lever says pricing is available upon request and tailored to organization size and hiring needs. Request a total that separates Core, add-ons and any migration charges. The Lever pricing guide helps distinguish published information from buyer benchmarks.

Are JazzHR and Lever the same company?

Yes, JazzHR and Lever share a parent, Employ Inc., which also owns Jobvite. They remain distinct products. JazzHR's footer describes the family as “JazzHR: Foundational Hiring,” “Lever: Scalable Hiring” and “Jobvite: Sophisticated Hiring,” alongside © Employ Inc.

That positioning matters when comparing proposals. You are choosing a tier within a vendor family, with different workflows and commercial terms. Shared ownership does not establish identical capabilities or a shared contract. Our Jobvite vs Lever comparison covers the other choice inside Employ.

Does Lever have AI resume screening?

Yes. Lever lists AI-powered screening in its Core Platform, described as automatically prioritizing top candidates with AI-powered matching, insights and signals. Core also lists unlimited AI interview transcripts and summaries, plus AI-powered fraud prevention signals.

AI Screening by VONQ is a separate paid add-on. Lever describes it as agent-based screening embedded in your career site for high application volume. The similar names make it easy to discuss screening on a demo without agreeing on what the contract includes. Ask for both names to appear separately in the proposal, with the included scope and price.

Lever also sells Candidate Insights and Onboarding as separately quoted add-ons. It says its AI is built with IBM watsonx.governance and states SOC 2 Type II. These are useful review points for buyers with formal security requirements, alongside a demonstration of the screening output.

Does JazzHR have AI candidate matching?

Yes. AI-Powered Candidate Matching starts on Plus at $3,480 a year and carries into Pro. Hero does not list it, so the cheapest JazzHR subscription is not the price of its AI matching package.

Plus also adds structured interviews and assessments, automation and standard reporting. That makes it the sensible comparison when your Lever proposal includes screening. Ask JazzHR to demonstrate the matching output against your role criteria and explain any usage terms. The feature name alone does not establish that every resume receives written evidence for every criterion.

Who JazzHR list price does not cover

JazzHR excludes agencies, HR service providers, franchises, multi-location businesses and organizations over 250 employees from standard pricing. The full footnote reads:

“Standard pricing does not apply to staffing or recruiting agencies, HR service providers, franchises, multi-location businesses, organizations with over 250 employees, or certain other types of organizations at JazzHR's discretion.”

A smaller company with multiple locations can therefore fall outside list pricing too. In practice, this is where Lever's quote becomes relevant to the shortlist, although the exclusion does not require buying Lever. Confirm JazzHR eligibility before using its published figure in a budget request.

If your company is approaching or exceeds 250 employees, compare the best ATS for mid size companies before building a budget around JazzHR's published plans.

When Lever is worth the quote

Lever is worth pricing when your team needs candidate relationship management alongside applicant tracking. Its built-in CRM supports nurturing passive candidates, while JazzHR has no sourcing CRM. A small team that needs passive candidates found for it can use an AI recruiter that sources and contacts passive candidates instead of buying a CRM tier.

Lever also deserves a closer look for structured enterprise hiring, reporting and coordination as recruiting grows. Core combines the ATS, CRM, reporting and AI tools; the SOC 2 Type II statement gives security reviewers a concrete starting point. The value depends on whether your team will use that broader scope. Our Lever alternative guide helps assess whether you need the platform or mainly better screening.

When JazzHR is the better buy

JazzHR is the better buy when you qualify for standard pricing and need straightforward hiring software without a sourcing CRM. Hero suits posting and tracking; Plus adds matching and structured interviews; Pro adds offers, eSignatures and deeper reporting.

Choose the plan around your workflow rather than paying for capabilities you will not use. For a wider shortlist, compare JazzHR vs Greenhouse for structured hiring and JazzHR vs Workable on pricing and AI screening. The JazzHR alternative guide covers a screening-focused option.

Ranking every resume before either ATS

Prescreener fits when the missing step is reading and ranking the full inbound pile with written evidence per criterion at a flat price. Neither ATS offers that combination. Their matching features deserve evaluation, but an AI label alone does not answer how thoroughly each applicant is assessed.

Prescreener works as a screening layer next to either ATS. Use bulk resume screening to rank the pile against the role criteria, then review the evidence behind the ordering. Our AI resume screening software overview explains that part of the workflow.

Plans cost $199, $499, $1,290 or $2,490 a month by applicant volume, or half that billed yearly. Check the Prescreener pricing plans against your volume. This addresses the screening decision separately from whether you need JazzHR's simpler ATS or Lever's broader CRM platform.

Frequently asked questions

Is JazzHR cheaper than Lever for a small business?

JazzHR's published annual prices are lower than Vendr's reported median Lever contract, but your Lever quote decides the comparison. JazzHR starts at $1,000, with matching from $3,480. Check eligibility first because standard pricing excludes several business types and companies over 250 employees.

How much does Lever cost?

Lever publishes no price and quotes according to organization size and hiring needs. Vendr's buyer data reports a median contract around $15,400 a year, which is not a vendor rate. Ask for a Core Platform total and separate prices for any add-ons you need.

Is AI Screening by VONQ included in Lever Core?

No. AI Screening by VONQ is listed as a separate paid add-on for agent-based screening on your career site. Core lists its own AI-powered screening using matching, insights and signals. Ask the seller to distinguish these features by name and confirm which your quote includes.

Which JazzHR plan includes AI matching?

Plus includes AI-Powered Candidate Matching at $3,480 a year, and Pro inherits it at $5,508. Hero costs $1,000 annually and does not list matching. Plus also includes structured interviews and assessments, configurable task automation and standard reporting, so compare its full scope with Lever Core.

Are JazzHR, Lever and Jobvite owned by Employ?

Yes. Employ Inc. owns all of them. JazzHR's footer positions JazzHR as foundational hiring, Lever as scalable hiring and Jobvite as sophisticated hiring. Shared ownership makes this a product-tier choice within a vendor family, but it does not mean the products have identical features or pricing.
