CareerPlug pricing: CareerPlug pricing per month, the Limited, Hire and Grow plans, and what each one screens
CareerPlug does not publish a price. Its website has no pricing page and every call to action is Book a Demo or Get Started, which leads to a sales form. What CareerPlug does publish, in its own help center, is the plan structure: three plans called Limited, Hire and Grow, a feature table for each, and billing terms that are stricter than most small-business software. Both billing intervals are 12-month commitments, monthly billing is offered only on Grow, and annual billing is paid up front. There is no charge per user.

The only dollar figure you will find is a third-party one. Several review and competitor sites say CareerPlug starts at about $50 per location per month, and one older listing says $100 a month. None of them cites a contract, and CareerPlug's own Capterra listing says "Contact vendor for pricing". Below is every source graded, what each plan includes, the contract terms that matter more than the rate, and what CareerPlug's prescreening does and does not do with an applicant.
Why it works
What a published screening price gets a small business pricing CareerPlug
A rate you can read today
Prescreener publishes $199, $499 and $1,290 a month on a public page. You can budget the screening line before you talk to anyone, instead of learning the number on a demo call.
Reads the resume, not just the answers
CareerPlug sorts applicants on their answers to your prescreen questions. Prescreener reads every resume against your criteria as well, so a strong applicant who clicks the wrong box is not lost in a Disqualified tab.
No 12-month lock to find out
CareerPlug's monthly and annual billing are both 12-month commitments. Prescreener is month to month on every plan, so a bad fit costs you one month, not a year.
What it handles
Parsed, scored and ranked on autopilot
Prescreener reads every inbound resume, applies your knockout and eligibility criteria, asks the screening questions you set, scores role-fit against consistent criteria, and ranks the applicant pile so your recruiters review the top matches first.
- Reads 100 percent of inbound resumes as each application arrives
- Applies your knockout and eligibility rules identically to every applicant
- Scores role-fit with the written evidence behind each placement
- Ranks the whole pile so a manager opens the strongest matches first
- Runs alongside CareerPlug, JazzHR or any ATS you already use
- Published monthly pricing on every tier, no demo required
- Never auto-rejects: it ranks and flags, and a person decides
- Bias-audited to support EEOC standards and NYC Local Law 144
Why Prescreener
One step that screens the whole inbound pile
Not a full ATS, not a six-figure assessment suite, and not a staffing agency. Parse, score, rank and hand off in one place, shaped to the criteria you already hire on.
Reads every resume
Prescreener parses every inbound application, applies your knockout and eligibility criteria, and asks the screening questions you set. Applicants consent and are told AI is screening their application, so no qualified person sits in a backlog for days.
Scores role-fit consistently
Every applicant is scored against the same criteria, with a transparent reason on each candidate, so the pile is compared consistently and the scoring stays bias-audited to support EEOC standards and NYC Local Law 144.
Ranks the pile
The strongest matches rise to the top of a ranked pile your recruiters review first. Prescreener never auto-rejects, it ranks and flags candidates for review, and your team makes every decision.
In depth
CareerPlug pricing, source by source and plan by plan
How much does CareerPlug cost?
CareerPlug does not say. We checked its website and help center on September 25, 2026: there is no rate, no starting price and no calculator anywhere. The help center article that explains the plans answers the question "How are CareerPlug's subscription plans priced?" with billing intervals, not numbers. CareerPlug's own Capterra listing, which vendors fill in themselves, says "Contact vendor for pricing", and it also marks the free trial and free version as not available.
The number that circulates is about $50 per location per month. It appears on SelectHub and on a competitor's blog, both of which also say, correctly, that CareerPlug does not publish its pricing. Neither names a source. Another range you will see is $40 to $100 per location a month, and an older SelectHub entry says pricing starts at $100 a month. We could not trace any of these to a CareerPlug document or a contract.
Read the per-location framing with care. CareerPlug is built for franchises and multi-location operators: its homepage says it is trusted by 400+ franchise brands and thousands of locations, and its user permissions are set per location. So a per-location quote is plausible, and if that is how you are quoted, the bill grows with every store, clinic or branch you open, not with how much hiring you do. A 12-location operator at the circulating $50 figure would be near $600 a month, or about $7,200 a year paid up front on annual billing. That is arithmetic on an unverified number, not a price, so get the real unit in writing.
For a single-location small business the practical answer is this: expect a quote in the tens to low hundreds of dollars a month, expect to commit for a year, and expect the plan you pick, not the number of users, to decide which features you get.
| Source | What it says about CareerPlug cost | How far to trust it |
|---|---|---|
| careerplug.com | No rate, no pricing page. Book a Demo and Get Started only | Authoritative, and says nothing |
| CareerPlug help center | Three plans, billing terms, no per-user charge. No dollar figures | Authoritative on structure |
| Capterra listing (vendor-supplied) | "Contact vendor for pricing"; no free trial, no free version | Authoritative, and says nothing |
| SelectHub, competitor blogs | About $50 per location per month | No source cited, no plan named |
| Other review sites | $40 to $100 per location a month; "starts at $100 per month" | Unsourced estimates, some clearly dated |

What are the CareerPlug plans?
CareerPlug sells three plans: Limited, Hire and Grow. The help center publishes a feature table for them, which is more than most quote-only vendors give you. All three include a branded careers page, configurable prescreen questions, pre-written job templates and a configurable hiring process. From there the plans split on reach, automation and what happens after the hire.
Limited is exactly that. It includes one free job post to your careers page and none of the job board reach: no Indeed or ZipRecruiter quick apply, no Autopilot interview scheduling, no texting and no onboarding forms. It is a plan for looking around, not for hiring at volume.
Hire is the plan most small businesses mean when they say CareerPlug. It adds unlimited job posts to 15+ partner job boards and your careers page, quick apply and sponsored job integrations with Indeed and ZipRecruiter, automatic interview scheduling with Autopilot, unlimited text messaging with applicants, and the state and federal onboarding forms a new hire needs on day one.
Grow adds the retention side: access to E-Verify and payroll integrations, pre-loaded and customizable workflows for onboarding, engagement and offboarding, and the Retain Insights reporting dashboard. It is also the only plan you can pay monthly.
| Feature (from the CareerPlug help center) | Limited | Hire | Grow |
|---|---|---|---|
| Branded careers page, prescreen questions, job templates | Yes | Yes | Yes |

What are the CareerPlug contract and cancellation terms?
This is the part of CareerPlug pricing that deserves more attention than the rate. CareerPlug offers two billing intervals, Monthly and Annual, and its help center says plainly: "Both are annual commitments."
Annual billing is a 12-month commitment from the day you create your account, and payment for all 12 months is required up front. You can cancel within the first 30 days. After that, you have paid for the year.
Monthly billing exists only on Grow, and it is not month to month. It is a 12-month commitment that starts on the date you change your plan, and you cannot downgrade or cancel until 30 days before your renewal date. In other words, the monthly option spreads the payments, not the risk.
Two terms work in your favor. There is no additional cost per user, so you can add every manager who interviews without changing the bill, and CareerPlug grants existing subscribers a 14-day trial of Grow, limited to one trial for the lifetime of the account. Neither is a free trial for a new buyer, and the Capterra listing confirms none is offered.
| Term | What CareerPlug states |
|---|---|
| Billing intervals | Monthly and Annual. "Both are annual commitments" |
| Annual billing | 12 months paid up front; cancel within the first 30 days |
| Monthly billing | Grow only; 12-month commitment; no downgrade or cancel until 30 days before renewal |
| Users | No additional cost per user; four access levels |
| Trial | 14-day trial of Grow for subscribers, one per account lifetime |
| Free trial for new buyers | Not offered, per the Capterra listing |

Does CareerPlug use AI to screen resumes?
No. CareerPlug's own guide to AI in hiring says the company launched an AI job posting tool, powered by OpenAI, that writes a job description at the press of a button. That is the AI feature it describes. It does not describe any AI that reads, scores or ranks a resume, and its screening page leads with evaluating candidates "beyond the resume".
CareerPlug screens on answers instead. When you set up prescreen questions, you score each possible response as Auto Fast Track, Fast Track, Normal or Disqualify. An applicant who gives any disqualifying answer lands in a separate Disqualified tab. One Auto Fast Track answer puts an applicant on the Fast Track list regardless of the other answers, and Fast Track applicants can be sent an assessment automatically. The assessments measure personality traits and math and verbal skills, and structured interview scorecards keep managers consistent afterward.
That design is fast and cheap, and for hourly roles with hard requirements (a driver's license, weekend availability, being 18 or older) it works well. Its limit is that it only sees what the applicant clicked. It cannot tell you that the applicant who answered "no" to two years of experience has 23 months running a comparable store, or which of 140 Fast Track applicants has the strongest resume. Those are the jobs of applicant eligibility screening software that reads the resume against the same rules and explains each decision.
If you already run CareerPlug and want the resume read too, you do not have to switch. Prescreener reads each application, applies your knockout rules the same way to everyone, scores role-fit with the evidence behind the score, and ranks the pile, while CareerPlug keeps doing posting, texting, scheduling and onboarding.
| Screening task | CareerPlug | Prescreener |
|---|---|---|
| Knockout on prescreen answers | Yes, Disqualify per answer | Yes, applied to every applicant |
| Reads and scores the resume itself | No | Yes, every resume as it arrives |
| Ranks the whole applicant pile | Fast Track list from answers only | Yes, by role-fit with written reasons |
| Personality and skills assessments | Yes, built-in library and partners | No |
| AI in the product | Job description writer (OpenAI) | Resume reading and scoring |
| Final decision | Automatic Disqualified tab on answers | A person decides, never auto-rejects |
| Published price | None | $199, $499 and $1,290 a month |

CareerPlug vs Prescreener: which fits a US small business?
They solve different problems, and plenty of teams will want CareerPlug. If you run a franchise system or a multi-location business and need one place to post jobs to Indeed and ZipRecruiter, text applicants, auto-schedule interviews and hand new hires the federal and state onboarding forms, CareerPlug's Hire plan is built for exactly that, and its no-per-user pricing suits operators with many hiring managers. Its hiring-expert support is a real asset for owners who have never run a structured process.
Prescreener fits when the problem is the pile itself: a role that draws 200 applications, a manager who reads the first 20, and qualified people buried under the rest. It reads every inbound resume, applies your knockout and eligibility rules consistently, scores role-fit and ranks the applicants with the evidence behind each placement. Plans are $199, $499 or $1,290 a month on the Prescreener pricing page, month to month, with no demo in the way.
If CareerPlug is one of several systems on your shortlist, our CareerPlug vs JazzHR comparison covers the most common head-to-head, the JazzHR pricing breakdown explains why its AI matching starts on the $3,480 plan, and the ATS pricing comparison lines up every vendor that does publish a rate. For the single-location case, see resume screening software for small business.
