The fact that matters more than any of those rates is what comes with the cheapest one. Manatal includes AI Recommendations, its candidate scoring and job matching engine, on all three published plans, starting at the $15 Professional tier. That is unusual to the point of being close to unique in this market. Most applicant tracking systems either gate AI screening behind a middle or top tier, sell it as a metered add-on, or refuse to publish a rate at all.

So the honest headline is that Manatal is the cheapest applicant tracking system in the United States that will read and score candidates for you at a price you can look up. The caveats are real and we cover them below: the Professional plan caps you at 15 active jobs and 10,000 candidates, the price is per user so it scales with the size of your recruiting team rather than your hiring volume, and Manatal is a full system of record, so adopting it means migrating off whatever you use today.

Every figure on this page was read from Manatal's own published pricing rather than from a summary of it. Prices are shown in US dollars. Manatal notes that Singapore residents pay an additional 9 percent GST on top of the subscription.

Why it works

What flat, published screening pricing gets your team

Screening without a per-seat meter

Manatal charges per user, so the cost of screening rises every time you add a recruiter or coordinator. Prescreener charges for the screening itself, which is the thing that actually varies with your hiring.

No 15-job ceiling

Manatal's entry plan stops at 15 active jobs and 10,000 candidates. Prescreener does not meter requisitions or candidate records, so a hiring spike does not force a tier change.

Nothing has to migrate

Manatal is a full applicant tracking system, so choosing it is a system-of-record decision. Prescreener runs in front of the ATS you already have, so the evaluation is much cheaper to reverse.

What it handles

Parsed, scored and ranked on autopilot

Prescreener reads every inbound resume, applies your knockout and eligibility criteria, asks the screening questions you set, scores role-fit against consistent criteria, and ranks the applicant pile so your recruiters review the top matches first.

  • Reads 100 percent of inbound applications on the plan you start on
  • No per-user seat charge, so adding a coordinator does not raise the bill
  • No active-job ceiling and no candidate-record cap to true up
  • Applies your knockout and eligibility rules identically to every applicant
  • Returns the pile ranked, with written evidence behind each placement
  • Runs alongside Manatal, Zoho Recruit, Workable, Greenhouse or Ashby
  • Never auto-rejects: it ranks and flags, and a recruiter decides
  • Bias-audited to support EEOC standards and NYC Local Law 144

Why Prescreener

One step that screens the whole inbound pile

Not a full ATS, not a six-figure assessment suite, and not a staffing agency. Parse, score, rank and hand off in one place, shaped to the criteria you already hire on.

Reads every resume

Prescreener parses every inbound application, applies your knockout and eligibility criteria, and asks the screening questions you set. Applicants consent and are told AI is screening their application, so no qualified person sits in a backlog for days.

Scores role-fit consistently

Every applicant is scored against the same criteria, with a transparent reason on each candidate, so the pile is compared consistently and the scoring stays bias-audited to support EEOC standards and NYC Local Law 144.

Ranks the pile

The strongest matches rise to the top of a ranked pile your recruiters review first. Prescreener never auto-rejects, it ranks and flags candidates for review, and your team makes every decision.

In depth

Manatal pricing, plan by plan and cap by cap

How much does Manatal cost?

Manatal costs $15 per user per month for Professional, $35 for Enterprise and $55 for Enterprise Plus when billed annually. Billed monthly instead, those become $19, $39 and $59. A fourth option, Custom, is quoted on demand. The gap between annual and monthly billing is roughly 21 percent on Professional and about 11 percent on the two Enterprise tiers, so the annual discount is proportionally largest on the cheapest plan.

There is no free tier. There is a 14-day free trial and Manatal states plainly that no credit card is required to start it, which puts it in a small group alongside Zoho Recruit and Breezy HR. Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS, Workday, Harver, Ashby and SmartRecruiters all advertise no free trial at all, and most of them publish no rate either, so a buyer who wants to test before signing has a genuinely short list to work from.

Read the per-user unit carefully, because it is the part that surprises people. Manatal bills per user, not per employee and not per active job. A 600-person company running three recruiters pays for three seats. That scales with the size of your talent function, which is usually the right shape for an agency and a slightly awkward shape for a company where hiring managers and coordinators all want logins.

Does Manatal use AI to screen resumes, and which plan do you need?

Yes, and unusually the answer is the cheapest plan. Manatal includes AI Recommendations, which covers candidate scoring and job matching, on Professional, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus alike. There is no screening tier to climb to and no separate AI licence to buy. At $15 per user per month billed annually, that is the lowest published price in the United States market at which an applicant tracking system will read a candidate and score them for you.

It is worth sitting with how rare that is, because the pattern across this category runs the other way. Zoho Recruit puts AI Candidate Matching on Corporate HR Enterprise and Pre Screening on Staffing Professional, both at $50 per recruiter a month, double its own $25 entry rate. JazzHR starts AI-Powered Candidate Matching on Plus at $3,480 a year rather than the $1,000 Hero plan everybody quotes. Bullhorn gates its Amplify screening to the quote-only Pro and Max tiers. Lever sells AI screening as a separate paid add-on through VONQ. SmartRecruiters does not include AI at all on Essential and puts AI-Powered Candidate Screening on its High Volume edition, which is quote-only.

So when you compare advertised entry prices across applicant tracking systems, you are usually not comparing like with like. The number in most tables is the price of a system of record. The price of the thing most buyers are actually shopping for, something that reads the inbound pile, is a different and higher number almost everywhere except Manatal.

What Manatal does not publish is the shape of the output or any volume limit on it. There is no stated cap on how many candidates AI Recommendations will score, no accuracy claim, and no description of whether you get a ranked pile or a per-candidate indicator. That is worth pinning down on a trial. Hand it 300 real applications from a requisition you have already worked, including two people you rejected and two you would hire, and read the reasoning it gives rather than the demo.

What the Manatal Professional caps mean in practice

The Professional plan carries two ceilings that Enterprise removes: up to 15 active jobs per account, and up to 10,000 candidate records. Neither is a soft limit you can quietly exceed, and the second one is the one people misjudge.

Fifteen active jobs is genuinely generous for a small business hiring a few roles at a time, and tight for an agency. An account limit is also not a per-recruiter limit, so a three-person agency on Professional shares 15 requisitions between them rather than getting 15 each. If you place across more than a dozen live roles at once, Professional is not your plan and the real Manatal price for you is $35 per user a month.

The 10,000 candidate cap is cumulative rather than concurrent, which is what makes it easy to underestimate. Candidate records accumulate. A single well-distributed warehouse or customer service posting can draw 400 to 900 applicants, and every one of those becomes a record. Three or four high-volume requisitions a year will put a small team into five figures of candidate records inside the first contract term, and at that point the cap forces either an upgrade or a decision about deleting people from your database, which has its own retention and compliance consequences under EEOC recordkeeping expectations.

This is the structural reason a screening layer and a system of record price differently. Prescreener charges for reading applications, which is the volume that actually varies, rather than for seats or stored records. It reads every inbound application as it arrives, applies your knockout and eligibility criteria identically to all of them, and hands back the pile ranked with the written evidence behind each placement. It sits in front of Manatal rather than replacing it, so nothing migrates and the decision stays cheap to reverse.

Is Manatal worth it, and who is it actually for?

Manatal is a strong fit for a recruitment agency or a small internal team that wants one system to hold candidates, jobs and pipeline, and that wants AI scoring included rather than sold separately. At $15 per user per month with a 14-day no-card trial, the cost of finding out is close to nothing, which is more than can be said for most of this category.

It is a weaker fit in two situations. The first is a company with a large hiring manager population, because per-user pricing punishes giving logins to people who touch the process occasionally. The second is a company that already runs an applicant tracking system it does not want to leave. Manatal is a system of record, so it is not something you layer on. Switching means migrating candidate data, rebuilding pipelines and retraining everyone who touches hiring, and that cost never appears on a pricing page.

The honest general point about this market is that the advertised rate and the total are different numbers almost everywhere, and the gap is usually made of metered AI, seat growth and caps rather than of the subscription itself. Manatal is better than most on the first of those and no different on the second and third. Our full applicant tracking system pricing comparison lays the published rates side by side, and the Zoho Recruit and Ashby pricing pages go deeper on the two vendors whose metering is most often misread.

Good questions

Questions about manatal pricing

Manatal costs $15, $35 or $55 per user per month when billed annually, and $19, $39 or $59 per user per month when billed monthly, in US dollars. The three plans are Professional, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus, and a fourth Custom tier is quoted on demand. Checked against manatal.com on August 30, 2026.
No. Manatal has no free tier. It offers a 14-day free trial that does not require a credit card, after which the cheapest plan is $15 per user per month billed annually. That puts it alongside Zoho Recruit and Breezy HR in the small group of applicant tracking systems you can evaluate without talking to a salesperson first.
Yes. Manatal includes AI Recommendations, its candidate scoring and job matching engine, on all three published plans including the $15 Professional tier. That is unusual: most applicant tracking systems gate AI screening to a higher tier, sell it as a metered add-on, or do not publish a rate for it at all.
Professional costs $15 per user a month billed annually and caps you at 15 active jobs per account and 10,000 candidate records. Enterprise costs $35 and removes both caps. AI Recommendations is on both, so the upgrade buys you volume rather than screening capability.
Yes, 14 days, and Manatal states that no credit card is required. That is worth using properly rather than clicking through. Load real applications from a requisition you have already screened by hand and compare what the AI ranks highly against the shortlist you actually built.
For screening, yes, and by a wide margin. Zoho Recruit's entry rate of $25 per recruiter a month is higher than Manatal's $15, and Zoho does not include AI Candidate Matching or Pre Screening until $50 per recruiter a month. So the cheapest Zoho plan that screens candidates costs more than three times the cheapest Manatal plan that does.
Yes, that is what it is. Manatal is a full applicant tracking system and system of record, so adopting it means migrating candidate data and pipelines off whatever you use today. Screening-first tools work differently: they run in front of your existing ATS and read the inbound pile without anything moving.
The published per-user rate covers the platform. Manatal sells an AI Interviewer as a separate feature and does not publish a rate for it on the pricing page, and Singapore residents pay an additional 9 percent GST. As with every per-seat product, the number that grows fastest is seats, so model the price against your recruiting team in two years rather than today.
